What would internet culture be like if the world had never discovered cat memes? It is entirely likely that the entertainment that we get from memes would not be the rich and varied tapestry that we have today, and it would also be lacking in the necessary dose of cuteness that balances out all of the cynicism. 

Luckily, we don't have to spend too much time imagining that sad alternate reality because we have plentiful amusing images of our feline friends to entertain ourselves with. Even today, cats rule the internet and most of us wouldn't have it any other way. Whether you enjoy their company at home as well or have no choice but to keep them relegated to behind a screen, there is sure to be a cat meme for you out there.
